Anthology Highlights - 1996

In true Apple fashion, this was released a week after the release of Anthology 3. The inclusion of some unique material insured that those who had to have everything, also needed to buy this. Basically, this is a single disc, best of the Anthology collection with four new songs.

The four new songs are:

* Thinking Of Linking, edited from the Paul, George and Ringo reunion jam found on the Anthology DVD.
* Like Dreamers Do is the third original composition recorded during the Decca audition.
* Dehra Dhun, prefaced with the garden ukulele jam intro, is an All Things Must Pass outtake.
* Ain't She Sweet, also from the garden ukulele jam found on the Anthology DVD with John's vocal edited in.

  1. A Beginning -> Free As A Bird
  2. Thinking of Linking (edited from reunion jam)
  3. Like Dreamers Do (Decca audition)
  4. Hello Little Girl (Decca audition)
  5. The Love of The Loved (Decca audition)
  6. Love Me Do (Pete Best on drums)
  7. How Do You Do It (outtake)
  8. Please Please Me (version one)
  9. One After 909 (1963 version)
  10. Shout (Around The Beatles)
  11. You Know What To Do (George demo)

Reality Notes:
Not a lot of imagination went into this. Songs are kept in roughly chronological order and were chosen for their uniqueness or historic value or, in some cases, just because I liked them. All are unedited released versions with a few exceptions being the removal of unwanted studio chatter and count-ins to make a smoother listen.

This is an interim solution that will be replaced with a different Anthology compilation that covers the 1970 to 1980 years.
